OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID LEVEL 1 (OFA 1)
This one-day certification course meets first aid requirements for WorkSafe BC OFA Level 1. Upon successful completion, candidates will be issued a WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid certificate.
Course Content:
- Emergency scene management
- Minor wound care
- Airway obstruction
- CPR and AED
- Severe bleeding and shock
- Medical emergencies
Duration – 8 hours
Number of Participants – Maximum 18
Certifying Body – WorkSafe BC
Certificate Expiry – 3 years
Exam – Ongoing Skills evaluation and multiple choice test at 70% or better to pass
Prerequisites – 16 years of age or older, WorkSafeBC approved form of ID

Certificate Expiry – 3 years
Exam – Ongoing Skills evaluation and multiple choice test at 70% or better to pass
Prerequisites – 16 years of age or older, WorkSafe BC approved form of ID

OFA TRANSPORTATION ENDORSEMENT (TE)
This one-day certification course focuses specifically on the transport of injured workers to medical aid. Course

- Review of patient assessment to an OFA Level 1 standard
- Review of critical airway, breathing and circulatory intervention with C-spine management
- Patient handling and lifting techniques
- Spine board and basket stretcher immobilization techniques
- Patient assessment and treatment during transport
- Transportation vehicles
- Aircraft transportation
- Applicable first aid regulations
- Oxygen first aid
Duration – 8 hours
Number of Participants – Maximum 12
Certifying Body – WorkSafe BC Certificate
