Rigging is a crucial skill for industries such as construction, manufacturing, and shipbuilding. The Basic Rigging Training program teaches workers how to properly inspect, attach, and secure loads to prevent workplace accidents.

Participants will learn:

  • Rigging safety principles and load calculations
  • Use of slings, chains, and hoisting equipment
  • Inspection procedures and failure prevention
  • Provincial regulations for safe rigging operations

This course follows Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) standards and helps ensure workplace compliance.

  • BASIC RIGGING TRAINING

    This course is designed to give the participants an overview of basic rigging and the safety associated with rigging and hoisting loads. The participants will also learn what the associated BC Regulations are for rigging as well as complete hands on rigging training. They will also learn how to use the operators load charts and complete load calculations.

    Duration – 8 hours
    Number of Participants – Maximum 12
    Certifying Body – Domcor Health Safety & Security Inc.
    PPE – Hard hat, high via vest, CSA approved steel toed boots, safety glasses
    Exam – Obtain 70% or better – both theory and practical knowledge test
    Certificate Expiry – 3 years
